The procurement process implies finding and agreeing to terms and acquiring goods, services, or works from an external source, often through tendering or competitive bidding process. It involves the specific identification of the company’s needs, a detailed examination of options, and all successive steps required to find and obtain necessary goods and services.
On the other hand of this process, the supplier who provides requested goods has no idea of how, where, and when they will be used by the buying company. This creates a lack of involvement between the parties, simply directing their communication to detached specifications and price negotiations.
We believe that the procurement process should be performed thoughtfully and innovatively, by building the relationship between the buyer and the seller. Ideally, this process would be well-communicated, with elements of entertainment, and be developed long before the actual contract is signed.
Such an unconventional approach would assist in confidently choosing the best partner and agreeing to the most suitable price and terms for each party. To achieve this, we believe that traditional Procurement departments will have to transform into Innovation Driven Procurement (IDP) groups within organizations, creating value, and engaging future suppliers. Such new entities shall be engaged in the starting point of product development and will be able to communicate what is necessary for its successful realization, specifically by using our unique Web Application.
Team members of our project have extensive experience in logistics, sales, and procurement. As a team, they are passionate and inventive creators of innovative approaches driving to improve the procurement process with an emphasis on communication, involvement, and efficiency while working to satisfy manufacturers’ requests.
IDPRO is a Vancouver-based startup business, developing a Web Application. Our system is to bring an innovative approach to the procurement process and as a result, match the right suppliers with the right manufacturers providing not only fruitful monetary cooperation but knowingly contributing to the common good.
We believe that conventional detached transactional relationships between suppliers and buyers can cause faults, misunderstandings resulting in non-optimal outcomes. Providing us new opportunities for establishing earlier and tighter connections between the parties, resulting in positive synergetic effects and increase efficiency for all parties.
Our mission is to create a system for establishing trustful, meaningful, and mutually beneficial relationships between those who develop and manufacture and those who supply. We set a goal for transforming the procurement process by involving suppliers in the initial phase of the project’s evolvement and communicating the company’s ideas and needs to set up a common understanding of how the supplied goods will be used and what the company is creating. We are striving to design and maintain a digital system for enabling manufacturers and contractors to actively communicate, engage, and find the best solutions for the final product.
